Finly is a free expense tracker that works in Pakistan without a bank connection. It records spending in PKR, keeps a khata for money lent and borrowed, understands spoken Urdu for entering expenses, and tracks Pakistan Stock Exchange holdings with live prices.
It runs in any browser and installs to your home screen. There is no App Store listing, no download, no subscription and no ads.
Why the big apps do not fit
Mint, YNAB, Monarch and the rest are good software built on three assumptions that do not hold here.
They assume a bank feed is the source of truth. Bank connection coverage for Pakistani banks is thin to nonexistent in the apps that offer it at all. Even where it works, a large share of everyday spending here is cash, and a feed is blind to cash. You end up with a tracker that is confidently incomplete, which is worse than one that is obviously manual.
They assume money moves between you and businesses. Lending 5,000 to a cousin, covering a friend's bill, running a tab with the shop on the corner: these are ordinary and they have no category in an app designed around card statements.
They assume your investments are listed in New York or London. Ask them for HBL, ENGRO or LUCK and most will not find the ticker.
What Finly does instead

The khata is the part that matters most
If you only take one thing from this page, take this one. Most people here are carrying a mental ledger of small amounts owed in both directions, and mental ledgers are unreliable in exactly the way that costs friendships.
Finly records lending and borrowing separately from spending, because lending 5,000 is not spending 5,000. The money is still yours, it is just elsewhere. Each person gets a page with every transaction and one net figure at the top, partial repayments reduce the balance without erasing history, and a settled balance drops out of your active list.
None of it touches your monthly spending total or your budgets. More on how the khata works.
Urdu voice entry
Press the microphone, say what you spent, and Finly fills in the amount, category, date and payment method for you to confirm. Nine speech languages are supported, including Urdu, Hindi, Arabic and Indian English.
The interface itself is English. Speaking Urdu to an English interface reads oddly written down and is completely normal in practice, which is why it works that way rather than forcing a choice.
One thing to know: speech recognition is your browser's, not Finly's, which means in Chrome the audio goes to Google to be transcribed. Finly only receives the text. If you would rather that did not happen, type instead, and everything works the same. The privacy policy spells this out.
PSX, crypto and gold in one place
Enter a ticker with a .KA suffix, HBL.KA for example, and prices come from the PSX Data Portal. A bare ticker also works. Global stocks come from Yahoo Finance and crypto from CoinGecko, so a portfolio with PSX shares, some Bitcoin and gold all sits in one view valued in rupees.
Gold is tracked at a price you set, since there is no automatic feed worth trusting for it. More on portfolio tracking.
Where your data sits
Records are written to your own device first and work with no connection. If you sign in, they sync to a server run directly by the developer rather than a third-party cloud platform. Finly runs Google Analytics for aggregate page views; there are no advertising pixels and no other trackers.
Receipt photos never leave your device at all, not even when signed in.
Being straight with you
It is new. finlywallet.com went live in August 2026. It is stable enough for daily use, which is what it was built for, but it is a young product from a small team.
Nothing imports automatically. Every record exists because you entered it. That is the trade for not needing anyone's credentials, and it will not suit someone who wants a hands-off tracker.
There is no bulk import yet. Export to CSV works, so your data can always leave. Bringing an existing spreadsheet in is not built.
It is not on the App Store or Play Store. It installs from the browser to your home screen instead.
Common questions
Is Finly free in Pakistan?
Yes, everywhere. There is no paid tier, no trial, no ads and no regional pricing, because there is no pricing.
Does it support PKR?
Yes. PKR is one of 11 supported currencies, alongside INR, AED, SAR, USD, GBP and EUR.
Can I speak in Urdu to add an expense?
Yes. Urdu is one of nine supported speech languages. Set it once in settings.
Do I need to link my bank account?
No, and you cannot. Finly has no bank connection of any kind, which is also why it handles cash spending properly.
Can it track PSX shares?
Yes, with live prices from the PSX Data Portal. Use a .KA suffix to be explicit, or a bare ticker and Finly will fall back to PSX.
How is this different from a khata book app?
Khata book apps track lending well and stop there. Finly does the khata plus your ordinary spending, budgets, insights and investments in one place, so you are not running two apps over the same money.
Does it work without internet?
Yes for entering and viewing records. Voice entry and live quotes need a connection. See offline expense tracking.
Do I have to download anything?
No. Open it in your browser and add it to your home screen if you want an icon.
